Seven local companies placed in Inc. 5000

Seven Springfield-area firms worked their way onto the annual fast-growth Inc. 5000 list.

Released this week by Inc. magazine, the list ranks the fastest-growing private companies in the United States based on 2012-14 revenue growth.

Well ahead of the local pack is Springfield-based Gig Salad LLC, which operates an online booking platform for performers and event planners.

The seven companies on the list:

    •    Three-year revenue growth: 664 percent
    •    2014 revenue: $2.5 million
    •    Employees: 29

The Great Game of Business Inc., No. 2,518
    •    Description: Springfield-based open-book management consultant
    •    Three-year revenue growth: 148 percent
    •    2014 revenue: $2.4 million
    •    Employees: 14

Russell Cellular Inc., No. 2,913
    •    Description: Battlefield-based Verizon phone and service supplier
    •    Three-year revenue growth: 121 percent
    •    2014 revenue: $169.2 million
    •    Employees: 950

3D Corporate Solutions LLC, No. 3,060
    •    Description: Monett-based pet food ingredient manufacturer
    •    Three-year revenue growth: 114 percent
    •    2014 revenue: $280.4 million

    •    Three-year revenue growth: 92 percent

The top-ranked Missouri company on the list is No. 77 Mid America Logistics, a Fenton-based logistics and transportation company that posted 2014 revenue of $22.1 million and three-year revenue growth of 3,918 percent.

The No. 1 company in the U.S. was Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Ultra Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator that posted 2014 revenue of $118.2 million and three-year growth of 100,849 percent.
