Seven Springfield-area firms worked their way onto the annual fast-growth Inc. 5000 list.
Released this week by Inc. magazine, the list ranks the fastest-growing private companies in the United States based on 2012-14 revenue growth.
Well ahead of the local pack is Springfield-based Gig Salad LLC, which operates an online booking platform for performers and event planners.

The No. 1 company in the U.S. was Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Ultra Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator that posted 2014 revenue of $118.2 million and three-year growth of 100,849 percent.
